October 2011
Dear fellow INR Member,
Your last chance to put in your nomination form for
Board of Directors is Thurs, Oct 20 at 9:00pm (21:00).
You can return completed nomination forms to any board
member or deliver them to the Oct.
Membership Mtg. At Sheffields near Westfield Mall on the
20th between
6:30pm-9:00pm. There will be plenty of people to sign
for you at the meeting.
CLUB RACING: INR owes a big round of applause to Charlie
Schlismann (F500) for representing us at the 2011
National Runoffs.
SOLO/ AUTOCROSS: With our season at its end some of our
members went to the South Bend Regions SOLO to take
First Place: Linda Ruschak (STRL), Kevin Kichoff (AST),
Chuck (in a truck) Wheeler (FST) and Henry Phillips
(F125).
Second places went to Steve Ruschak(DP), James Rose(GS)
and Jason Gast(FST).
ATTN; ALL MEMBERS: Jason Gast is looking for someone to
help him with the SOLO program. I have been amazed at
how much he has accomplished without a real designated
assistant for all this time. We also need a plan B if
something fails and Jason is not available. He deserves
a few seasons of "arrive and drive" so lets please help
him out.
RALLY: As the days shorten, temperatures drop, leaves
turn color then fall,
chairpersons tally points, and the 2011 INR season seems
to be over.....
It’s TURKEY TIME!!!! This year our overly appropriate
starting point for the
dreaded event will be STRONGBOW INN, 2405 Morthland Dr.,
Valparaiso IN. 46383 (219 462 5121). If you have never
endured a Turkey Rally do not despair. Even sage
seasoned Turkey Rallyers have no real advantage over the
Turkey novice, you can knock the stuffing out of them!
All you need to Turkey Rally is patience, concentration,
a sense of humor, a
driver navigator team, a roadworthy vehicle and some
form of working odometer. (OK the odometer is probably
optional as many of our winners have merely guessed the
final figures) If you do not have a driver or do not
have a navigator contact us, or just show up and we can
most likely provide one for you.
TR Disclaimer: Turkey Rally is NOT a Time Speed Distance
event. Turkey Rally is NOT a Regional, Divisional, or
National Rally points event. TR does count for 21 club
INR points. TR staff and INR not responsible for
accidents, tickets,
arguments, breakups, fistfights, divorces, or mental
anguish/ breakdown incurred while involved in the rally
process. While not always perfect the instructions are
absolutely the best we can do at the last minute.
TR Note: It is not OK to physically harm the Turkey
Rallymaster or any of his
assistants. If you plan to come out to a race (or even
if you don't plan to)
please contact SCCA National to do the FREE FOR THE
ASKING membership upgrade to regional F&C
(Flagging&Communications) . INFO contact CHARLIE, KEITH,
