Interested in helping put on club races?
Races can't happen without a dedicated and
talented field of Race Officials and we are always
looking for more. "Race Official" sounds
important...and it is, but it's very easy to
become one. Race Officials are people who
volunteer to staff positions at the track during
race weekends. These people wave flags at the
corners, help grid cars before the race, work the
timing and scoring system, help register drivers
and other Race Officials, throw the green and
checkered flags, ensure the safety of the event,
and more. All one needs to do is show up at the
track and say, "I want to help." INR will be
holding BRIEF outlines of some of these
specialties at each club membership meeting

“Just by
participating in races like ours you can have a
great opportunity to help with a race like this
...
The Washington DC Region SCCA has been asked to
organize the F&C effort for the upcoming inaugural
Baltimore Grand Prix, to be held in Baltimore's
Inner Harbor area this September 2-4. As you may
have heard, this event date conflicts with our
region's annual Labor Day double regional race at
Summit Point Raceway, and we need your support to
promote both events to the F&C community and drum
up interest among qualified flaggers.
We have established a website at
http://proworker.wdcr-scca.org/
containing periodically-updated information about
participating in the Baltimore event, which will
feature ALMS and Indycar racing, as well as three
pro open-wheel support series. The online F&C
worker sign-up form can also be found on the site.
Additional questions and inquiries may be directed

I'd like to draw your attention to the hotel
information. The DC Region has negotiated a group
discount rate at an area hotel approximately 8.5
miles from the course, which should be able to
access the race site via public transit on Friday
and Saturday. However, the deadline for booking
reservations at this rate is July 18,
approximately three weeks away.”
